These polls were conducted in 1997, 1998 and 1999 and presented at the Milken Family Foundation’s national conference. The goal of this research was to uncover:

  • respondents’ attitudes towards the importance of computers in the future of today’s young people;
  • how respondents perceive the current state of computer accessibility in the public schools;
  • whether respondents believe computers and up-to-date technology can affect the quality of public education; and
  • how much respondents are willing to invest to equip the nation’s public schools with computers and up-to-date technology
