Seventy exceptional elementary educators from across the nation will receive $25,000 Milken Educator Awards at the Milken National Education / Teacher Advancement Program™ Conference in Los Angeles, April 17-19. These educators will be among 900 top educators, experts and policymakers gathering at the conference to share their ideas under the theme, Comprehensive Teacher Quality Reform: Policy and Practice for a New Era. At the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis, MN, two Milken Educators,
Glen Westbroek (UT '01) and
Dr. Steven Paine (WV '05), were panelists on the Education Forum focused on 21st Century Skills. They joined four distinguished experts from business and policy to discuss why 21st Century Skills are important and relevant. Other topics included the role of technology in education and how professional development will help teachers instill 21st Century Skills in their students.
