Biographical Information:Catherine Latham is deputy superintendent of the Lynn Public Schools in Lynn, for which she was previously a school support coordinator. As a former math teacher and department chair at Lynn English High School, Latham created the AP Calculus program and employed creative, cutting-edge methods to illustrate complex mathematical theories and further student learning. She helped develop the MCAS preparation program, establishing a mini-block schedule to provide time for extra instruction and contributing to a significant increase in student scores. Latham's many leadership roles demonstrate her commitment to public education, ranging from supervising a student tutoring program to beginning a club for future teachers. She worked to improve teacher quality as a PALMS (Partnerships Advancing the Learning of Mathematics and Science) Teacher Leader, and served as board member of several education associations and advisory bodies.
