Biographical Information

Science teacher and department chair Natalie Rasmussen adheres to a strict ethical code and inspires her students to do the same at North Community High School in Minneapolis. She created a program called Quick Writes, an exercise for students who are on time to class. The program provides a natural segue between the previous lesson and the current topic, while also reinforcing punctuality. Mrs. Rasmussen's "hands-up" drills encourage students to participate in problem-solving activities. She motivates students to excel by rewarding those who earn an exceptional (A+) score with the right to sit in her "Fabulous Chair." She is a member of various schoolwide committees and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in science education. In her spare time, Mrs. Rasmussen is a voice-over artist, and has recorded commercials for local, regional and national radio and TV.
