Education Policies of the 50 States
Facts and Figures
by The Milken Exchange on Education Technology
8/6/99 |
To provide insight into the education technology policies of the 50 states, the Milken Exchange conducted a state-by-state education technology policy survey in the summer of 1998. The survey consisted of a 75-minute telephone interview and a nine-page written questionnaire. Survey respondents were state technology directors from each state.
This 22-page document outlines the results of that survey, and helps to address the challenges to policymakers of how to invest public funds wisely and shape public policies that translate into the effective use of technology in schools. Included in the document are: states' data on student standards related to technology; figures on budget appropriations and earmarked funds for technology; technology planning and assessment strategies; teacher proficiency standards; and technical support structures in place in the fifty states.
