Learning Technology Policy Counts

by The Milken Family Foundation

3/29/00 | The American public is investing in technology in schools. As students get access and classrooms get wired, policy leaders across the nation are asking, "Does technology work? Is technology an effective learning tool for improving academic performance among students?" The answer is, "Yes, provided certain essential conditions are in place."

The challenge to policymakers is how to wisely invest public funds and shape public policies that translate into the effective use of technology in K-12 schools.

The Milken Exchange State-by-State Education Technology Policy Survey provides current information and insights into education technology policy in the 50 states. The survey was conducted in June and July of 1998.
