First grade teacher, Lakeside Primary School | Prairieville, LA
On January 24, 2023, first grade teacher Elise Frederic got the surprise of a lifetime at Lakeside Primary School when Lowell Milken presented her with a Louisiana Milken Educator Award and $25,000 in front of students, staff, media and visiting dignitaries. "I teach because I want to make a difference," Elise told us after the assembly. "I want my impact to last way longer than I'm on this Earth. When I see my students achieve, I know that I made the right choice in becoming a teacher."
